Would you like to get away from it all and have a magnificent time in the process? Dumb question, I know. But what if I told you that you don’t have to shell out thousands upon thousands of dollars on a luxury cruise to the Bahamas in order to have a totally satisfying vacation, either with the entire family or just with the love of your life on a great romantic getaway? Well, you don’t. How about a hiking trip? Seriously? Yes. Keep reading, I’ll give you the whole scoop.

The great variety of different types of hiking trails you have at your disposal will allow you to customize your getaway to suit different personalities, interests, preferences, and ambition levels. There is no reason to assume that a hiking excursion necessarily needs to end in buckets of sweat and people hyperventilating all over the place! You can just as easily find super leisurely hiking trails that can allow everyone to get some nice fresh air, take in gorgeous scenery, and lightly stroll about without ever breaking a sweat or gasping for breath.

A hike can be very romantic, indeed. If you would like to take your sweetheart on a getaway that will not soon be forgotten, hiking along a scenic trail can provide the perfect setting for both breathtaking beauty and love. There are so many landscapes you can choose from, and in some parts of the world, you may be lucky enough to enjoy many of them on just one hike! Rivers, waterfalls, dessert terrain, rain forests, mountains, and even the coast are a few of the awe-inspiring landscapes you may wish to hike with that special someone.

When it comes to a time investment, a hiking adventure can truly last as long… or as short… as you want it to. It can be as short as a few short hours, or be extended to last for weeks. Many individuals camp at a campground, while others may stay in a centrally located lodge, choosing different hiking trails each day and returning to the lodge each night. However you want to do it, the game is certainly set up in your favor. This is great for families with children who may otherwise become a bit grumpy.

What’s really great about choosing a hiking park with a central recreation area is… well, the recreation. In addition to lodging, you can usually find other really cool things to do, such as swim, fish, shop, and dine out. It’s pretty amazing some of the great amenities you can find in this type of hiking community. It really gives you the best of all worlds – luxury, convenience, natural beauty, adventure, variety, and comfort. Not a bad way to get away from it all!

Do you love to hike? The truth is, you can hike almost any terrain you desire, but the more well thought-out and scouted your trail is, the more enjoyment you are likely to get out of your hike. Finding the very best trail to go on will allow you to not second-guess yourself, come across something too treacherous, or get lost (or hurt). But how do you actually find the very best hiking trails out there? This article will help to answer this question for you.

The most obvious way to go about determining which trails are worth your consideration is also the most powerful. It is simply to ask your fellow hikers. You can find great hiking groups online or in your local area. Simply doing an internet search for “great hiking trails near (city or town)” or “best hiking trails in (state or region)” will yield you lots of great suggestions for you to begin looking into. When you actually look these specific places up, you’ll want to make sure they’re safe, affordable, and exciting enough to make it worth your trip.

It also shouldn’t be too difficult to get some good ideas by simply visiting or contacting some nearby state or national parks and checking out their visitors center. They will be more than happy to point you in the right direction, and they will have the most expert insight into the very best hiking trails. They will also be able to tell you in stunning detail what it is about their recommendations that truly do make them the best.

If making the trip to the park’s visitors center is a bit beyond the scope of what you’re willing to do, you can always call them or visit their website. Ask for some free brochures, which they will be undoubtedly thrilled to mail out to you right away. These parks are incredible resources for finding some truly amazing hiking trails that are sure to exhilarate and delight you. This resource is just as valid for out-of-town hiking as it is for local hiking.

By simply jumping online and doing a basic search in your favorite search engine, a whole world of ideas and information will open up to you in an instant. By simply typing in such search phrases as “local hiking trails,” “hiking trails in (area),” and/or “best hiking trails in (country),” it is nearly impossible for you to not find a great park, a great hiking trail, and a great adventure. In fact, when your search results pop up, try to find hiking authority sites that will have TONS of valuable information that can help you along in finding your perfect hiking trail.

If you love to hike and would like to share in this experience not only with your own family, but also with a group of like-minded individuals, you may be wise to consider joining a hiking club. This is a great way to mingle with other men, women, and children in the great outdoors. Often, this results in everyone having a much better time because there are plenty of others to share in the adventure.

While a sense of community and enhanced fun are certainly great reasons why a hiking club may be something worth very seriously looking into, they are without question not the only reasons. In fact, they aren’t even the most important. There are practical issues that make this an extraordinary idea, as well. Primarily, when you hike with a group, you are far less likely to suffer an injury, and if you do wind up getting hurt, you know that help isn’t far away.

What’s really great about joining a local hiking club is that it isn’t just limited to big out-of-town excursions. You can hike locally on a near-by hiking park or woodsy trail. There are essentially no limits on how often you can get together with either the whole group or one or two members. You are actually quite likely to end up making a few close friends out of the whole experience. These will ultimately become your regular “hiking buddies” with whom you could find yourself hiking with all the time!

There are actually a variety of different types of hiking club, so make sure you know the differences before just blindly joining one. While some hiking clubs will get together on a monthly basis to tackle some new terrain – but don’t do a whole lot else – other clubs will meet far more frequently, scouting out new trails and wilderness, discussing all the latest hiking trends and gear, and even planning and implementing fundraisers to support their mutual hobby. So it is important to know just what it is that you’re willing to do, how often you’re willing to do it, and which group is best for you based on these preferences.

So what about fees? The truth is, just as they will vary in function, hiking clubs will also vary in membership dues. Essentially, this is going to come down to how passionate you happen to be about hiking. If you are an avid hiker who will want as much time with your group as possible, then you may end up paying higher weekly or monthly dues than if you simply meet up for an excursion a few times each year. The more active you are, the more you can plan on investing.

For anyone who is not an experienced camper, determining what to bring along for the ride will most likely not come as second nature. It can be difficult to anticipate everything you may need on that big camping excursion. This article will help you make these determinations so that you don’t find yourself stuck in a bad situation.

There are definitely essentials that every camper should take with them on every single camping trip they happen to go on. These will include camping supplies like health products, food, and various personal items that you just can’t do without (or wouldn’t want to, anyway). Also included on your list of essentials will be camping gear like tents, sleeping bags, a fire source, emergency gear, the appropriate clothing, etc.

Most men and women have a pretty good idea of what they need to pack as far as toiletries, food, and other such important (and quite frankly, obvious) camping items. However, it can be truly surprising how many of us don’t have a firm understanding of the types of camping and survival gear that can not only make a camping trip a lot more effective and enjoyable, but also far safer. There are a few really basic things you can take along with you that, when it’s all said and done, can very literally mean the difference between life and death.

Of course, the most standard pieces of equipment that just about all campers consider right from the initial planning stages are the tent and the sleeping bag. For people traveling in groups, it may be necessary to bring along more than one tent. It is also a good idea to take each individual’s body size into account before purchasing tents, as there are multiple styles and sizes to choose from. The same is true when it comes to sleeping bags.

You will also want to be well aware of the typical weather patterns for the particular area in which you intend to camp. Not all sleeping bags and tents are created equal, and if you find yourself in the middle of a deep freeze, a blizzard, a rainstorm, strong winds, or any other severe weather pattern, you will want to make sure you’ve got the very best possible protection.

For added comfort, it may not be a bad idea to bring along an air mattress or sleeping pad. Most likely, the ground below your tent will be uneven, bumpy, and perhaps even rocky. Just because you’ve decided to “rough it” doesn’t necessarily mean you should have to suffer undue physical pain. Portable mattresses are a great way to get a good night’s sleep and truly enjoy your camping experience as much as possible.

Most of us will agree that hiking can be a blast. You can truly have a great time with friends and family, enjoying the great outdoors, participating in all kinds of great activities, and getting away from all the stress of day-to-day living. On the other hand, camping can also be pretty dangerous, if you’re not adequately prepared and equipped. This article will discuss a few important considerations you really need to make before you ever step foot outside your front door.

For starters, it is always best policy to thoroughly scout the area you will be camping and/or hiking. The more familiar you are with your surroundings once you get to your destination, the less likely you are to become lost or encounter unexpectedly dangerous terrain. It is also of the essence that you understand the wilderness in which you will be spending your time. You need to know about any poisonous plant life, odd and potentially hazardous weather patterns, and aggressive predatory wildlife that may be native to the area.

Of course, having this knowledge is only half the battle. You will then want to thoroughly prepare yourself for any potential hazards you may encounter along your path. Some items you may want to include are:

* Rain gear
* Firearms and/or other weapons to fight off predators
* A map and compass
* Rope
* The appropriate hiking gear
* Matches and/or a lighter
* Possibly a fire shelter, if hiking or camping during fire season
* Emergency food and water supply
* First aid kit

These are just a few of the many items you may wish to take along for the ride. These will help to ensure that if you and your party find yourselves in a potentially life-threatening situation, you will be well-equipped to improve your chances of survival significantly.

In addition, it is also extremely important that you are able to communicate, both with the other members in your party and with the outside world. Bring a long-range walkie-talkie and more ideally, a cell phone. Make sure that as many of your friends and family members as possible are well aware of your location before you ever embark on your hiking trip. In fact, it would be a good idea to provide somebody with a map of the exact route you intend to take. This will allow for a more efficient search and rescue mission should you find yourself in a seriously tough spot.

If you’re looking for a great, low-cost adventure to share with your family, significant other, or just a few friends, it may be time to strap on your hiking boots, grab a tent, and go on a good old-fashioned camping trip. In fact, if you just want to get away from it all for a while, there is no shame on actually going it alone. It may be more fun with other people, but the great thing about camping is that it can be just as therapeutic as it is adventurous.

Of course, camping doesn’t always suit all personalities. This article will address this, and in particular, different steps you can take to make sure that if you do decide to go on a camping trip, you can take some steps before you ever leave the house to ensure that everyone has the best time possible in the great outdoors. So be sure to keep reading.

It is important to take stock of your likes and dislikes, as well as the likes and dislikes of everyone who may be joining you. Some people love spending time outdoors while others simply do not. While a few people in your party may love fishing, others may prefer swimming while others still would rather just sit by a campfire, roasting marshmallows and talking about the “good old days.” The key is finding things that everyone can enjoy.

Obviously, another thing you will need to take into account when planning any camping trip is your budget. Camping can be “done” in many different ways. You may wish to bring food, cooking supplies, etc. – or you may actually prefer to live off the land by gathering berries, catching fish, and drinking natural spring water. You sleeping accommodations can range from a twenty dollar tent with a fifteen dollar sleeping bag all the way up to a million dollar motor home with all the bells and whistles… and everything in between, of course.

If you would like to go the more luxurious route and camp in an RV, it is worth noting that many dealerships will rent a travel trailer, fifth wheel, or motor home for a weekend or a week… however long you plan to camp. This eliminates the huge expense of purchasing your own recreational vehicle and allows you to provide the “city slickers” in your family with a few of those creature comforts that they may not be able or willing to do without. You will find that many campgrounds do have RV parks included.

Romance is in the air. And what better way to enjoy this romantic air than to be out with your sweetheart in the great outdoors? Camping is such a wonderful choice for a romantic getaway for many, many reasons. A little solitude, removal from stress, and a focus on beautiful surroundings and each other are at the top of this list. This article will go into a bit more detail about these great reasons, as well as how you can get the most out of your romantic retreat into the incredible world of nature.

A huge selling point for many couples when it comes to going on a lovers’ camping excursion is the absolute freedom that can be enjoyed. No need to get formally dressed, or spend an insane amount of money, or be proper in any way. You can be yourselves, truly and completely. Laugh as loud as you want, run around and act silly together, have a “few too many” to drink, and just simply enjoy each other’s company to the absolute fullest.

Of course, it’s not all just about being blatantly wild. You can enjoy the beautiful nature that surrounds you, while enjoying a gorgeous sunset together, looking longingly into your sweetheart’s eyes, and professing your undying love. Snuggle up to the campfire and talk about the future… or the present. Just talk and enjoy the moment all night to the wonderful sounds of crackling embers, a nice breeze, the birds, and any other soundscape that Mother Nature has provided for your enjoyment.

Another compelling reason to choose a camping trip as your romantic getaway is that you get to choose your own adventure. If you like to fish, you can find a great campground near a river or creek. If you’d like to enjoy a nice, exhilarating hike together, you can find a spot with great trails, hills, or even mountains! There are several possible landscapes for you to choose from, and in some areas of the country, you may even be able to enjoy many of them all at the same place!

There are other variables that can help to paint your experience together, such as sleeping accommodations. While some couples prefer the traditional tent and sleeping bag setup, others will favor the convenience and comfort of staying in an RV. This is obviously a matter of taste, and the choice is totally yours; another wonderful advantage of making your next romantic getaway a fun, relaxing, and freeing camping trip in a beautiful location.
